The K-PREP (Kitsap Practices Responsible Emergency Preparedness) program focuses on organizing and preparing our schools. A standardized plan has been initiated throughout Kitsap County's school districts organizing them into response teams called "The Circle of Nine".
In order to create a more efficient working relationship with first response agencies, the Circle of Nine program has been modified to more closely resemble the Incident Command System, also known as ICS. ICS is an organizational framework designed to manage any event, small to large. It is a system that has been used by Police and Fire departments for several years.
The following documents represent an enhancement of the KPREP school plan to now include exercise and training tools for both public and private school districts. The exercise program attempts to assist schools to organize and plan their exercise and training requirements in a methodical way without overwhelming first responders and the school districts themselves.
